Nalini Arvind & T V Patel Arts College is one of the institutions established by Charutar Vidya Mandal in 1959. The college runs courses leading to Bachelor's degree in Arts in eleven major & two subsidiary subjects. They are (1) English Literature (2) Hindi Literature (3) Sanskrit Literature (4) Gujarati Literature (5) Economics (6) History (7) Political Science (8) Logic & Philosophy (9) Sociology (10) Psychology & (11) Geography as principal and subsidiary subjects and (12) Computer Application and (13) Office Management & Secretarial practice as subsidiary subjects.

 The college was awarded 'Best College Award' by the Govt. of Gujarat during the year 1980 in the very first year of its institution. It was also one of the about forty colleges selected from all over the country by the UGC for participation in COHSSIP during 1975-80. UGC, in the beginning of its first phase, selected only 70 colleges from all over India for introduction of Vocational subjects, and this college was the only Arts college in Gujarat selected in the beginning of the Project. In order to enhance the employablility of Arts Graduates, the college has introduced some job-oriented courses like Business Organisation, Translation, Journalism, Local self Govt. etc. Experienced and eminent scholars are invited to deliver lectures on varied topics. The college also organises seminars and class room discussions on a special topic in different subjects.

The college has two laboratories, one of Psychology and the other of Geography and a museum under the dept. of History. A well-equipped computerised library with audio-visual aids, attracts the students and the research scholars for their further study. The college has a number of extra curricular activities to invigorate the talent of students in different avenues. It has honour of running the Post Graduate Dept. of Logic & Philosophy on behalf of Sardar Patel University. This co-education college is independent in approach, committed to scholarship, experimental in character, distinctive in performance and continues to strive for academic excellence.
